All travelers, except those from India, will need visas to enter Bhutan. Bhutan requires permission for visitors from India. Anyone with an Indian passport or voter I.D. card is subject to this. Passports or birth certificates are acceptable for Indian natives under 18. However, they must be accompanied by legal guardians.

Indian citizens can travel using their passport or voter I.D. card. Children under 18 can travel using a birth certificate or passport but must have a legal guardian.

Bhutanese insurance companies are available at the port of entry upon arrival if you want to buy domestic travel insurance. In addition, all ports of entry have tourism information officers available to help visitors.

If you are flying into Bhutan, you may obtain an entrance permit there; otherwise, if you are driving there, you must get one at the Department of Immigration Office.

Holders of Indian passports are only permitted to remain in Bhutan for 15 or 7 days after the date of entrance. But if you want to stay in the nation longer, you must request an extension of your entry permit.
